Various Ways To Join the Indian Army After 12th for Females

1. SSC Non-Technical Entry

SSC (Short Service Commission) Non-Technical Entry is one of the best options to join the Indian Army after the 12th for Females who are from non-science backgrounds. Candidates have to clear the written NDA exam conducted by UPSC twice a year in April and September. You must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, be unmarried, and fall within an age gap of 19 to 25 years. 

2. SSC NCC (National Cadet Corps) Entry

SSC NCC (National Cadet Corps) Entry offered the best opportunity to females who have completed their 3 years of NCC and have an NCC C certificate. A candidate must be unmarried and fall under the age group of 19-25 years. You appear directly for the SSB interview without any written examination.

3. JAG (Judge Advocate General)

Judge Advocate General Entry provides law graduates to join the Indian Army as advocates. You must have an age between 20 to 27 years of age and must possess a degree of LLB from a recognised institution or university with at least 55%. Only unmarried candidates are eligible and will directly appear for an interview without taking any written exam.  

4. SSC Tech (Technical) Entry

SSC Tech (Technical) Entry is one of the best schemes to join the Indian Army after the 12th for Females. You need to have graduated in engineering from a recognised institution or university. The age limit is between 20 to 27 years, and a candidate must be unmarried. You do not need to take any written exam to appear in the SSB Interview.  

NDA Educational Requirements to Join the Indian Army After 12th for Females

A female candidate can appear for the NDA written exam, whether she is from a science background or a non-science background. If a candidate is from a science background, then she is eligible for all technical and non-technical posts after 3 years of training in the NDA. While candidates from non-science backgrounds are only eligible for non-technical posts. Candidate must be aged between 16.5 to 19.5 years and must be unmarried to appear for the NDA exam. After clearing the NDA exam and SSB interview, a candidate becomes eligible to join the NDA. After completing 3 years in NDA, the candidate gets admission into her designated institution or academy (IMA, OTA, AFA, INA). 

CDS Educational Requirements for Females

CDS (Combined Defence Services) offers the best opportunity to join the Indian Army for Females. A candidate appearing in a final year or completing her graduation from a recognised university is eligible to appear in the CDS written exam. You must be an age between 19 to 25 years old and must be unmarried. A candidate needs to clear the CDS written exam and SSB interview to become eligible for OTA (Officers Training Academy). After completing 1 year of training in the OTA, a candidate gets their designated post and regiments.
